Mekat in one paragraph
Mekat (mekat.ai) is an AI literacy app for iPhone, with a membership you can also join on mekat.ai. It teaches practical skills for people who are new to AI or want to use it better: choosing and using AI tools, writing clear requests (prompts), checking AI answers and sources, keeping private information private, and spotting AI scams, voice clones and deepfakes. Lessons take a few minutes, you practise on realistic tasks, and spaced reviews bring ideas back so they stick.
Who Mekat is for
- People who have heard a lot about AI and want a calm, plain-language place to start.
- People who already use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Copilot and want better, safer results.
- Parents, students, workers and older adults who want to recognise AI-powered scams and protect their information.
You don’t need to know anything about AI to start. Mekat explains one idea at a time.
What Mekat teaches
The learning path has 12 stages, from “Start here” to “Expert”:
- Start here: your first useful request and everyday judgment.
- How AI works: what a chatbot is, why AI gets things wrong, tokens, context and limits.
- Asking well: saying what you want, giving context, shaping the answer and follow-ups.
- Checking AI: claims versus support, citations and links, AI search and lateral reading.
- Privacy, safety and scams: what never to paste, data settings, phishing, voice clones and deepfakes.
- Writing and communicating: drafting from your notes and keeping your own voice.
- Learning and studying with AI: hints instead of answers, self-quizzing and school AI rules.
- Planning and decisions: plans, budgets and comparing options without letting AI decide.
- Images, audio, video and documents: what AI sees, consent, labels and provenance.
- Choosing models and tools: kinds of AI tools, reasoning modes, plans and limits.
- Workflows, agents and coding: reusable prompts, agents, tool permissions and prompt injection.
- Expert: testing prompts and tools, and capstones.

How Mekat works
The lessons, examples and quizzes are written by the Mekat team and bundled in the app; they are not generated live by AI. Two optional features use AI: short feedback on some writing exercises, and Ask Scout, a coach chat that can explain a lesson, improve a prompt or check an AI answer. Both stay off until you allow them. How Mekat uses AI explains the details.
Your lessons, progress and practice answers stay on your iPhone. Mekat has no ads and no ad tracking, and never sells your data. See the Privacy Policy.
Price and free trial
The iPhone app includes 2 weeks free through Apple. After the trial, Mekat Premium is $2.49 a week, $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year (US prices). You can also join on mekat.ai at the same prices; joining with a creator’s code or link starts with 1 month free. Memberships renew until you cancel. See Membership and prices and Subscriptions.
Where to get Mekat
Mekat is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. Mac and Windows apps will follow once signed releases are ready. See Download.
